SSBTS Mentors
The Rev. Daniel Payne is Dean of Saints Sergius and Bacchus Theological Seminary, an ordained minister with the Progressive Christian Alliance and the senior pastor of Open Doors Community Church in Seoul, South Korea. He is a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
The Rev. Dr. Bruce Joffe is a founding member, and is ordained by, the Progressive Christian Alliance. He is also a recognized minister in the International Council of Community Churches. Dr. Joffe is an Associate Professor of Communication at Mary Baldwin College and pastor of Christ Church of Peace in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Rev. Reg C. Richburg is dually credentialed with both the PCA (Progressive Christian Alliance) and MCC (Metropolitan Community Churches). Reg has served in a variety of congregational settings. Reg holds an MSW from SUNY Stony Brook. Reg has extensive experience in counseling within the Queer Community. Reg's theological training has been through the former Samaritan Institute for Religious Studies, Wesley Theological Seminary and the Episcopal Divinity School. Reg is a certified Spiritual Director, Labyrinth Facilitator and Contemplative Retreat Facilitator.
Reverend Jarrod Cochran is a Mentor and Professor of Theology at Saints Sergius and Bacchus Theological Seminary. As a theologian, minister, writer, speaker, and activist, Jarrod has written a top-100 Amazon.com best selling book Finding Jesus Outside the Box: A Progressive Christian Manifesto on the Journey from Religion to Authentic Faith (Doulos Christou Press/PCA Press, 2009), co-founded the inter-denominational renewal movement The Progressive Christian Alliance, and is an outspoken Christian Anarchist and advocate for social justice, equality of gender and the GLBT-community, and nonviolence.
In addition, Jarrod has also written and been interviewed for a variety of popular theological magazines and websites, including Tikkun Magazine/Network of Spiritual Progressives, The Ooze, Every Church a Peace Church, Dangerous Idea, Jesus Radicals, and Patheos.
